Peg ‘n Awl is a traditional American folk, hillbilly and mountain music duo leaning heavily on harmony singing styles from the late 1800s to the 1950s. Kenny Roby and Amy Laber have been called the “real deal” when it comes to singing these old-time music songs as well as original tunes that fit this traditional mold. With no-frills, stripped-down arrangements on guitars and banjo, they perform in a way that keeps the focus on the vocal styles of the Carter Family, Blue Sky Boys, Delmore Brothers, Callahan Brothers and many other duo and family harmony groups that dominated the southeastern US and Appalachian region music of their time.
